Mother's Day - Part 2

Although Reese wasn't with us this weekend, I couldn't talk about Mother's Day without including her! This ELEVEN year old has been in my life since she was 2 years old!! I love her so much and she is such a huge part of my life! She is a sweet, respectful little girl and is a great big sister. She always wants what is best for Kyla and tries her very best to be a good example. The truth is...Reese is a big nerd, just like me, and that is why we get along so well together. Haha! We joke about that all the time.

Reese got me the nicest card for Mother's Day! It is one I will save FOREVER!! She also wrote a paper about me at school recently when her teacher asked her to write about one of her parents. I cried when I read it because it was SO nice! I decided to type it out below so that I can look back on it when we have to go through the TEENAGE YEARS. LOL!

I love my Reese so much and and so thankful that she is a part of my life. I am one VERY BLESSED mama! :)

Here are a few silly pics of us together :)

And, here is her paper. I'm typing it exactly like she wrote it.

I LOVE YOU

Do you have a mom or step mom that you adore with all of your heart? Well I do. Her name is Nikki. She is not my real mom, but I feel like she's more of a mom then I've ever had! She is always there for me. The lady loves me even when I can be a big toot. The wonderful woman never gives up on me, and I don't give up on her.

Her eyes show kindness and a sweet heart. Nikki knows when I'm sad or happy. She has a beautiful smile that makes you feel good about yourself. She has a very good sense of humor. Nikki really knows how to make you laugh.

The beautiful woman was a good sport when she was a child. She was a straight A student. She works very hard. When she was a child she was on the cheerleading team. Nikki has blond hair with brown highlights. She is as skinny as a toothpick. Nikki isn't the tallest woman in the world, but I think she is the perfect height.

My life wouldn't be the same without her. It would be a hugh hole in my heart if she died. If she could come back for one day, I would want one of her warm hugs. There's something I want to say before I end this story, "I love you, Nikki."

Mother"s Day

We went to Nonie's house for Mother's Day this year. Kyla and I spent the day with Nonie Pa Cobb, CC, Pa, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Rick, KK, Aunt Suzy, and Jocelyn. We had a wonderful lunch together and spent the afternoon just relaxing and hanging out. I absolutely love being a mom and had a great Mother's Day this year!

Also...early this morning Kyla ran into our bedroom. She has NEVER done this before. If she does wake up before we do, she will usually just hang out in her room and play with her toys until someone gets her out. Today, however, she got out of her bed, opened the door, and ran to our bedroom. It was honestly the best Mother's Day surprise to open my eyes and see my little girl standing next to me with a big smile on her face.

My sweet Kyla Mae...she has made me love, learn, and laugh more than I ever thought was possible.

Her new CHEEESSSSEEE face!

Playing "baseball" ;)

Nonie and Uncle Rick took the girls for a ride on the dolly...

...they LOVED it!

Aunt Cheryl showed the girls how to use the super-soakers!!

We Love Daddy!

Well I got a text message from Jesse today when I was at work that said...She got me. He then attached the next two pictures and I just had to laugh. Kyla basically had a shopping spree at Walmart and Jesse bought her everything she asked for. Haha! She got a new horse, a ball and bat, a movie, and two boxes of fruit snacks. Daddy sure does like to spoil his girls.

When I came home from work, he took Reese to the park and taught her how to ride a bike. She has a trike and scooter, but has never had a bike. He took her out and she learned in about 20 minutes!! We are soooo proud of Reese and it's fun to see her proud of herself! I am grateful for my wonderful hubby who is the best daddy ever! His girls love him so much!

Playing Outside!

Kyla and I had such a fun Saturday together! We spent the morning at the park, ate chicken fajitas from Rosas for lunch, and spent the afternoon playing in in the backyard. Kyla was having so much fun that she would run up to me and give me a big hug every couple minutes. I loved it! Such a fun mommy daughter day!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Kyla!!

Our Kyla Mae is 3 years old!! She is such a sweet little girl and we just can't imagine our lives without her! We had a Minnie Mouse birthday party for her this year. Kyla was so excited about her birthday that she sang the happy birthday song almost every day the week before her birthday. Her favorite part of every party is singing happy birthday, blowing out candles, and eating cake! She absolutely loves it! My friend Jodi made the cutest Minnie Mouse cupcakes for Kyla's party. They were amazing...strawberry cake with strawberry butter cream icing AND Oreos in the shape of Minnie Mouse on top! Yummmm!

Sisters

I have always been VERY close to my sisters and honestly don't know what I would do without them, so it makes my heart really happy to see the same bond being formed between Reese and Kyla. They love each other very much! It's an unspoken love and connection. Here are a couple examples...Kyla cries when Reese leaves to go somewhere and when Reese is watching a TV show, she comes out at almost every commercial to shower Kyla with hugs and kisses. I took these pictures at the end of our day not too long ago. I was doing the dishes and looked outside and saw the girls playing together. I'm thankful that my camera was close by. :)
