Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween this year! Jesse and I love dressing up and surprising everyone with our costumes! This year Jesse was a gangster, I was a peacock, Reese was a disco diva, and Kyla was a little lamb. Reese and I made ghost cookies all morning and then we all dressed up for our evening of fun! Kyla was so tired by the time I put her in her costume that she threw a little fit when I tried to take her picture. So, I put her down for a short nap and she woke up happy and ready for the festivities!

Thanks to Aunt Paula for the cute candy corn outfit and fun paci! Our little jack-o-lantern!

Six Months Old

Baby Kyla is 6 months old! She weighs 16 pounds 3 ounces and is 25 1/4 inches long. We are having so much fun watching Kyla grow and change. Kyla has such a dynamic personality! She is always babbling, smiling, laughing, yelling, fussing, and/or crying. She is not a quiet baby. She is a very talkative and social baby! Hmmm....I wonder where she gets those personality traits? Jesse and I have talked about it and with us as her parents, she never had a chance. We think she will be talkative FOREVER...just like her mommy and daddy! :-)
Kyla is also sitting without support. She loves to sit up and play with her toys. She wants to crawl so bad, but hasn't mastered the skill just yet. I give her a couple more weeks before she is on the move.
Another thing Kyla loves is to play on the floor with her mommy and daddy! She gets so happy when we get down on the floor with her and kiss her face and tummy. Jesse growls at Kyla when he first gets down on her level and she starts squealing with excitement! It is really fun to watch!! Kyla is also loving her big sister! When Reese is around Kyla smiles all the time. The other day Reese left the room that Kyla was in and Kyla fussed and yelled until she came back to play. Reese is a great big sister and is always asking how she can help with the baby. She is even changing some of Kyla's poopy diapers! We are so proud of Reese for being a wonderful helper!
Kyla has recently started eating baby food. She has tried a lot of different foods like, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, pears, apples, and bananas. She loves it all! I am still nursing, but have recently started to supplement with formula in an attempt to wean her off of her breastfeeding schedule.
We thank God every day for blessing our lives with Kyla. She makes us all very happy and we cannot imagine our lives without her!

We just love that happy face!

Kyla loves Daisy. She giggles every time Daisy gets close.

Fun times on the play mat.

Pumpkin Patch

We had a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch this year. It was a beautiful day, but man was it windy!! Reese is a huge fan of checking out pumpkin patches. She gets so excited about wheeling the pumpkin around in a wagon. And, once again, Reese picked a great pumpkin. We plan to carve it sometime this weekend. I think Kyla enjoyed the pumpkin patch as well. She loves to be out and about! When we are out running errands and visiting people she is such a happy camper!

Family Tradition

Kyla's great great great grandma Kelley hand made the dress and blanket in these pictures. They were made about 55 years ago and have been passed down to all the baby girls in our family. Kyla Mae is named after both her great great great grandma, Mae Kelley and her great grandma, Lola Mae. The last picture is me at three months old. It was fun to be able to put Kyla in a dress that I wore as an infant. I just love family traditions!
