15 months

Kyla is 15 months old and I just can't get enough of her these days! She is SO active and SO fun! We have a blast hanging out together! Kyla now weighs 22.9 oz (47%) and is 31 inches tall (76%).

* She has started delivering things to us. When we sit with her and play she will pick up her toys one by one and bring them to us. She also does this when I am doing laundry. I will sort all the clothes and she will move my piles of clothes from one side of the room to another.

* Kyla loves to bounce the ball around when she plays. She will bounce it, wait untill it stops rolling, and then go get it and do it all over again. She will sometimes say, "gall" when she is looking for her ball.

* She loves to play in the curtains. I think it's so funny because she has tons of toys, but would prefer to play underneath the curtains all day long if she could.

* Kyla is learning to eat with a spoon. When she is patient, she does a VERY good job! However, most of the time she likes to hold the spoon with her right hand and eat out of her bowl with her left hand. :)

Playing in her kiddie pool! I just love that little face!

So proud of herself for finding a leaf! :)

Kyla and Daddy being silly!

Mama and her munchkin!

Eating with a spoon! Yay Kyla!

I recently took Kyla to a duck pond. This is the only picture I took though because before I could even set the camera down after this shot, Kyla was pretty much running down the hill to get to the ducks! It was just the two of us and I was worried that the ducks might try to bite her so I held her the rest of the time and didn't take any other pictures. Kyla absolutely LOVED the ducks! She smiled and laughed at them the entire time they waddled around us. She cried SO hard when we left, so once the weather cools down a bit I'm definitely taking her back!

Here is our sweet little girl sleeping in her bed! We love her so much!

Michael Buble Concert

Jesse and I recently went to see Michael Buble with his family! We have listened to Michael Buble for years now and try to see him whenever he is in town. His concerts are always great! He is such a funny guy AND a great singer, of course. :)

Yummmmy Yogurt!

Kyla loves to eat yogurt! She always screams and cries when I tell her that her yogurt is all gone. Since it has been so hot lately I've been making yogurt popsicles! I actually got the idea from a commercial and am so happy that I tried it out because Kyla has the best time eating these yogurt pops! Here she is enjoying her tasty treat! :)

Silly Little Sleepyhead

Kyla has been a GREAT sleeper ever since she was about 9 months old. She typically takes one nap a day and goes to bed about 7:30pm and wakes up about 7:30am. All of this great sleeping has been in her playpen because we could never get her to sleep in her crib when she was an infant. We tried and tried, but she was devastated EVERY time we put her in the crib. So, for the first months of her life, she slept in bed with us (Jesse and I know that co-sleeping is not recommended, but we did it anyway...and loved it) and as she got older we put her in the playpen in our bedroom. The playpen is where she learned to sleep on her own and we never had any problems at nap time or bedtime, UNTIL a few weeks ago!! :) I put Kyla to bed one night and when I went to check on her this is how I found her.....

YES, that is our sweet little Kyla sitting UNDER her playpen mattress! Ha! I walked in and saw the top of her head and quickly grabbed my phone to take her picture because I thought she looked so stinkin cute. After the pic, I picked her up and fixed her bed and she went right to sleep without anymore problems. HOWEVER, for the next couple of days, each time I put her to bed I would hear all this movement and noise coming from the room. Each time I walked in the room to check on her I would find her trying to lift the playpen mattress out of the playpen. I have no idea why she suddenly wanted nothing to do with the playpen mattress! It was so funny because she would be sweaty and exhausted, but she just wouldn't give up on getting that mattress completely out. After about a week of this, Jesse and I decided to give the crib another shot. And, after one night, we were so happy to discover that Kyla outgrew her "crib phobia." :) She is now napping and sleeping through the night in her crib! Yahoo! I am so happy because her crib seems much more comfortable than her playpen.
Here she is, worn out after moving the mattress all around. I guess she just gave up.

Didn't think she would sleep that long with everything all messed up like that, but she moved to this position and slept for about 2 and 1/2 hours!
She didn't get the mattress up here, but she did pick her sheet off and rearrange her blankets. This 14 month old was out cold in this pic!
The next two pics are my favorite! She fell asleep sitting up!! How cute is that?!?!?! And, don't worry...I fixed the bed and laid her down after I took these pics. :)

Here is our little mama sleeping in her crib!!! Yay Kyla!! :)

Fun Times with Cousin Jocelyn

We love watching Kyla and Jocelyn interact with each other. They are six months apart and are both growing up so fast. They have recently become very interested in what the other is doing. You can be 100% sure that if one of the girls has a toy that is making a lot of noise or looks really cool then the other little one is not too far away. Kyla is always walking up to Jocelyn and putting her hands gently on her back or shoulders. As she touches Joss, she looks at us to make sure we see what she is doing and then walks away. When she walks away, we will say something like, "Oh Kyla, that is so nice." And sure enough, as soon as we are done telling her how nice she is she goes back to do it all over again.

Another cute thing happened the other day when the girls were in the bath together. Kyla tried to wash Joss with the washcloth! I left the washcloth in the water after I cleaned the girls and Kyla decided to pick it up and mimic my behavior. She picked the wet cloth right up and put it on top of Jocelyn's head and started rubbing it all around. Then, after Kyla "washed Jocelyn's hair," she put the washcloth on her own head. It was SO FUN to see Kyla act like a "big girl." She seemed to be very proud of herself afterwards. :)

Here are the girls playing on their little rocking chair.

Kyla taking Joss for a stroll. I love this picture!!

Lunch time! Joss is really going after Kyla's sippy cup.

Sippy cup gone. It was thrown overboard. As you can see, Kyla was not too happy!!

Hanging Out

Here are some pics of Kyla hanging out with Aunt Alli, Uncle Rick, Grandpa Dan, Nonie, and Jocelyn. I am so thankful for all the family that loves on our little munchkin. I always hug Kyla and ask her... "What does it feel like to be so loved?" :)

The 4th of July

We had the BEST 4th of July this year! We just hung out at home with the fam and had so much fun! We got up in the morning, dressed in our red, white, and blue, and made all the food for the day. After all the food was made, we hung out inside for a while and let the babies play. The girls looked too cute in their festive outfits so we wanted to let them play together dressed in their holiday attire. :) We then spent the rest of our afternoon and evening hanging out by the pool. After the kiddos went to sleep we ate dinner and had cocktails on the patio. Great day! Great memories!

Happy 4th of July!

Cuddle time with daddy.
Mama and Kyla laughing at daddy!
Here is a pic of me and my munchkin last year on the 4th! Just thought it would be fun to see how much Kyla has grown since that time. She has definitely changed since this photo, but her smile is the same. Kyla's smile just melts my heart every time I see it!!

Kyla has recently started being very gentle with Jocelyn. She used to kind of hit her on the head a lot. Not in a mean way...it was just a little rough, but she didn't know any better. Now, Kyla is very soft with Jocelyn. She tends to walk up to her and gently put her hands on Jocelyn's body. It is so sweet to see the girls interact this way.

Although Kyla is now very gentle with Joss, she still has to prove that she is the oldest from time to time. Here she is trying (with all her might) to take the shopping cart away from Jocelyn. Ha! :)

Girls...and lots of em!

Suzy and Joss!

Sweet baby Jocelyn...8 months old!

The mamarazzi loves this pic! It is so colorful!

Nothing beats playing in the water on a hot summer day!

This pic was taken at the end of the day. Jocelyn was about to go to bed and Jesse was in a super goofy mood so he started singing the song Ebony and Ivory to her while Suzy got her bottle ready! Hahaha! We were all laughing so hard! Jocelyn LOVES her Uncle Jesse!

Me and my sweet hubby at the end of the night! Such a fun day!
