We took the little ones to the pumpkin patch and had a great time. We ate some barbecue and kettle corn, looked at all of the pumpkins, watched Kyla play on the playground, and even went through a corn maze (which was much harder than we expected)! Going to the pumpkin patch every year is one of my most favorite things to do. It always excites me because it is the start of the fun holiday season! Not to mention that I love any opportunity to take pictures of my family. ;-)

State Fair!
We take a trip to the state fair every year! This year was the first time we took the girls with us. They had a blast! Jack stayed with Nonie while we ate as much fair food as we could. Nothing beats a Fletcher's corny dog, curly potato fries, a turkey leg, and a funnel cake!! Yummy! Kyla was able to participate in a stick horse race for kids 3-6. It was so fun to watch all the kiddos take turns barrel racing with their stick horse. They gave all the kids a ribbon for participating and they gave out two trophies to the fastest racers. Well...guess what?? Kyla was not one of the fastest so she didn't get a trophy. This really upset not only her (which I expected since she is one of the most competitive little kids I know...yikes!), but it upset Jesse and Reese just as much! LOL!! Reese was devastated and kept saying, "Oh no mama, what are we going to do?!" Kyla was crying and saying, "Mom, I not win a trophy!!!" Jesse immediately scooped her up and started telling her he was going to buy the biggest stuffed animal at the fair. I was laughing so hard, I was crying. I wasn't laughing at the fact that Kyla wasn't one of the two trophy winners, I was laughing at Jesse and Reese and their reactions!! Hysterical!! I literally had to run after Jesse and tell him that this is a great life lesson and that she isn't going to win everything and that she is going to be ok without "the biggest stuffed animal at the fair." After the family regrouped, we decided to just hang out and get an ice cream and guess what...everyone survived! We spent the rest of the day riding rides and having a blast.
