Patio Fun

Rain or Shine Kyla loves to hang out on the back patio.

Spring Dance

Reese had her spring dance a couple of nights ago.  She was so excited about going.  She talked to me about it all week.  The night before the dance she had the music on in her room, was laying out her dress, and was painting her nails and toes.  She asked me to curl her hair and put a little make up on her the night of the dance.  It was so cute to see her so happy and was just another reminder that she is really growing up and getting older.

Kyla wanted to be just like her big sister so she put on a dress, fixed her hair, and put on make up too.  After the girls were ready, we decided to dress Jack up for the night too.  We put him in a tie!  Ha!  The two little ones stayed home with me while Reese went to dance the night away.

Anna

My wonderful, loving, kind, mother-in-law, Anna, passed away on April 6, 2013.  It has taken me a while to even be able to write anything about her death.  She suffered an unexpected stroke.  We were all in shock because she was so full of life up to the very minute of the stroke.  She was the best mother in law I could have ever asked for.  She took care of me, my husband, and my children selflessly.  She was so much fun to be around and was truly the light of our lives.  We spent almost every day of the week with her so we are definitely still adjusting to her not being around.  I can't think of another way to put it except that it's a total lifestyle change.  It hurts me that she will not be around to spend time with my kids throughout their childhood.  She loved them so very much.  What I do know is that we have a guardian angel looking down on us.  I know that she is not missing out on a moment of our lives and that her spirit will live with us forever.

2 months

We absolutely LOVE our baby Jack!  He is such a sweet blessing in our lives.  I am so in love with him and love each and every second that we spend together.  Jack is a great baby.  He loves to cuddle! He has been sleeping through the night since about 5/6 weeks.  He sleeps in his swing so I know I will have to transition him out of it at some point, but for now he likes it and will sleep from about 8 at night to 4 or 5 in the morning.  So...I'm just gonna let him snuggle into it for a while so that we can all be rested.  Jack has always loved tummy time.  I can remember his pediatrician telling me to start tummy time around 3 weeks old.  She told me that he would most likely hate it so I was surprised to find out that he actually loved tummy time.  He will even fall asleep on his tummy after he plays!  Also, Jack has been smiling and "talking" to us since about 6 weeks old.  He looks right at us when we talk to him and gives us the biggest smiles.  He also makes the cutest baby sounds.  I love when he talks to me!  It is just the sweetest thing!

Smiling!
Smirking!
Kyla LOVES her "baby Jack."  Hearing her talk to him is hilarious.  She gets really close to his face and just talks a ton of baby talk to him.  It is so cute to watch her interact with him.
Jack is already getting annoyed with my excessive picture taking! Ha!

Kyla and Tati took turns tracing each others body with sidewalk chalk.  The back patio looked like a scene from the show CSI. Ha!

Grandpa bought both girls really pretty princess dresses!   They loved them and played for hours!

Kyla's 4th Birthday!!

Our little girl is 4!  The past four years with her have been a blast!  She is our loving and outgoing little diva and we love her so much!!!  This year when I asked her what she wanted to have at her party she said, "a balloon, a cupcake, and decorations!"  I thought it was so cute that she knew what she wanted so I made sure to have everything she asked for on the day of her party.  I also let her go to Party City with me and pick out her own party theme and decorations.  When we walked into Party City, Kyla got so happy and immediately started hugging me, jumping up and down, and saying, "Thank you so much for the birthday party mommy!!!"  Haha!  It was just the cutest thing ever that she got so excited just walking into the party store. Kyla decided to go with the Disney Princess theme.  And, last but not least, she picked out her own party dress.  I think that she will always refer to her purple dress as her party dress.  Ha!  She loves it!!

We actually ended up having two parties for her this year.  One with my side of the family and the other with Jesse's side of the family.  It was easier to do it this way so that Jesse didn't have to miss a day of work.  Kyla didn't mind one bit...she LOVES to party!!  Here are the party pics!
