Eleven Months Old

Kyla is now eleven months old and we just can't get enough of her! She is full of personality, very strong minded, and is constantly doing something to make us laugh and smile. She such an active little girl and is into EVERYTHING. Below is a bit of what she has been up to lately....

* Kyla continues to stand on her own, but shows no interest in walking. She prefers to speed crawl around the house.

* She likes to crawl up the stairs (with me right behind her).

* She loves to empty drawers! She will toss everything out of a drawer and laugh as the clothes fly behind her head.

* Kyla has started "dancing." She bounces around on her bootie while kneeling and sticks her hands up in the air.

* She still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. I have to keep my eyes on her every second!

* She LOVES to be outside. The second we walk outside she gets the biggest smile on her face.

* She is saying dadadadada, but I don't think she knows who Dada is yet. She is close though.

* Kyla loves our cat Winnie and dog Daisy. I swear she has tried to say "Daisy Dog" a couple of different times. It kinda sounds like...Da-Do. We will have to wait and see if she does it again! I'm excited.

* She plays a game with me called...Love The Baby. I will pick up her teddy bear and hold it, hug it, and rock it as I say...love the baby, Kyla, love the baby. Then I give her her teddy and say it's your turn, love the baby, Kyla. Kyla will hug the teddy as she rocks it and pats its back. It is ADORABLE!!!! I love love love watching her on her teddy! I don't have a picture of this, but will try to get one.

* I know I always say this, but Kyla just cannot get enough of Sesame Street. She will watch the entire hour. She laughs and smiles through the whole episode. When she really likes a part she will crawl really fast toward the tv and then do her "dancing."

* Kyla is getting two more teeth on the top. Both of the teeth next to her two front teeth are about to pop through the gums. She doesn't seem to be having too much trouble with them. The two front teeth were definitely the worst so far.

* She goes to bed at 7pm every night and wakes up about 7:15am.

* Kyla is a great eater. She pretty much likes everything I give her to eat...peas, carrots, green beans, ground turkey, noodles, crackers, fruit cocktail, applesauce, cheerios, oatmeal, and ginger snaps. She also likes baby food, but prefers to feed herself so I usually give her things she can pick up on her own.

I cant believe that we will celebrate Kyla's 1st Birthday in just one month! Our baby is growing up so fast!

Playing outside on a beautiful day!
Trying to eat a leaf. Ha!

I like this pic because it looks like she is modeling.

Playing with the basketball.

This pic makes me smile because it looks like the same basketball pose you see in school yearbooks. I didn't set her up this way, she just did it on her own. Maybe she will be a good basketball player?!!

Daddy, Kyla, and Reese

Mommy and Kyla

Look at that cute little face!
Here Kyla is initiating the "I'm gonna get you" game. When she wants to play she will crawl far away from you and look back with a huge smile. Then if you act like you are going to get her she nuzzles her face into the pillow, blanket, bed, etc. and screams. Once you finally get her she laughs REALLY hard!

We went outside on the windiest day EVER! Kyla was having such a good time that I decided to take some pics. Surpise...surprise...Ha!

Give me that flower mommy.

I almost have it.
I got it and am so happy!

He loves me...he loves me not... :)

Butterflies

This week Anna took us to the see the butterfly exhibit at the Botanic Garden. The weather was perfect. We were able to see tons of butterflies because they love to fly around on sunny days. Our favorite part of the day was when a butterfly landed on Kyla's bow! I couldn't get my camera to zoom out fast enough so I didn't get a very good pic. :( Lots of other people did though. People all around Kyla were taking pictures of her because she looked so cute with a butterfly on her head. Ha! It was fun to be able to hang out with older kiddos too. They always make me laugh. Chloe and Reese know and sing all the latest Top 40 hits everywhere we go and Tristan runs around doing boy things (running, climbing, and investigating everything). Poor little guy is always surrounded by girls! He might not like it now, but I know he will when he gets older! Ha! We had a great day!

Kyla and Anna relaxing in the nice weather before we saw the butterfly exhibit.

The kiddos.

Here is the entire crew when we first walked into the conservatory. My camera lens fogged up since they keep the conditions very humid.

Checking things out.

Look carefully and you can see a butterfly on Kyla's bow. She didn't even know! I really wish I could have taken a better picture, but at least I have this one that I can show her when she gets older!

Kyla reaching out to touch the butterflies.

Kyla was unusually quiet the entire time we were in the conservatory. I think she was just trying to take it all in. Her head was constantly whipping around as the butterflies flew all around her.

After we left, Anna kept telling Kyla that she was a very special baby because a butterfly landed on her head. What a sweet grandma!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I love St. Patrick's Day! To celebrate we all wore green and ate corned beef and cabbage (sounds gross, but it's really good). The girls and I ran errands in the morning and hung out at the house in the afternoon and Jesse played golf in a St. Patty's Day tournament. Here are some pics of us sporting our green attire.

Reese reading to Kyla. Be sure to notice little Kyla standing by herself!! :)

Kyla loving on her sis.

Here we are on the couch before we headed out for the day. Kyla seemed very disturbed by her dad's green shirt. She was staring at him like... "What are you wearing?!!" Ha! :)

Reese loves "trees with white leaves" aka Bradford Pears and wanted her picture taken by the tree. Her request made the mama-razzi so happy! We went outside and took some pics. This was Reese's favorite.

And, here is a head shot of Kyla-Ky. It wasn't taken on St. Patty's Day, but she is wearing green! I think she looks super cute here so I wanted to share.

So Loved!

Kyla's family loves her very very very much and I am thankful that she is surrounded by so much love. I am always asking Kyla, "What does it feel like to be so loved?" No, she does not answer me (yet), but I just like saying that to her since I can see how much she is loved by others. I know that Kyla cannot comprehend everyone's love for her at this stage of her life, but as she gets older it will be fun to see her realize that she is and always has been loved by A LOT of people. Here are pics of Kyla with SOME of her family members, but NOT ALL. If you don't see your picture please don't get upset. I try really hard to get pics of everyone with the little munchkin, but sometimes I just can't get 'em all. So, if you are not pictured in this post...BEWARE OF THE MAMA-RAZZI...I will be lurking! Ha! :)

Kyla's new trick when I try to take her picture...I call it the get-a-way.

Afternoon at the Park

We took advantage of the wonderful weather today and went to the park after Reese got home from school. We had a great time! We played at the playground for a little while and then took a walk around the park. I love the nice weather and am so happy that the cold temperatures are coming to an end!

Teething Hurts!

I know this might seem mean, but I took a couple of pictures of Kyla having a rough day due to teething. She is getting four of her top teeth at the same time and they are giving her such a hard time. My poor baby just isn't herself. We have used lots of tylenol and oragel to help with the pain. I always give her tons of hugs, kisses, and cuddles when she gets super fussy. I love her so much and hate that she is hurting!!

Look at that sad face...poor baby!
