* Kyla is now a speed crawler! If you get behind her and tell her that you are gonna get her she will crawl as fast as her body will take her while grinning from ear to ear. Jesse plays that game with Kyla a lot and she loves it!
* She has also become an expert at pulling herself up to a standing position while holding on to our furniture and our bodies. If she is not hanging on to the side of the couch or the rocking chair then she is holding on to my legs. I am getting very familiar with the top of her head! :)
* Kyla has two bottom teeth! I knew she was close to getting a tooth because she was drooling SO much, but I was still surprised to see them when they finally popped through her gums. Her first tooth came in at the beginning of December and her second on December 15th. I don't have a picture of them yet, but I will work on getting one soon.
* Kyla loves other children. Any time she sees another kid she immediately starts talking and smiling. Even at restaurants, if there is a kid sitting in a high chair anywhere close to us, she will make this high pitched sound to get their attention. Then, before you know it, Kyla is being offered cheerios or french fries from the table next to us!
* She is now holding her own bottle and sippy cup. She has no problems with the sippy cup. She loves to drink apple juice and water from her cup. Her bottle is another story. She will hold her own bottle if she has to, but she most definitely prefers that someone else hold it for her.
* She loves eating baby food and seems to like everything except chicken and stars and mashed potatoes. I can understand not liking the taste of canned chicken, but the mashed potatoes I just don't get! She makes this disgusted face after each bite of potato. She even gagged after only three bites. This is a white russet potato, mashed...nothing fancy. Oh well, hopefully she will take a liking to them soon. She also loves Gerber puffs and crunched up saltine crackers.
* Kyla is still (and always has been) a HORRIBLE sleeper. She wakes up every three hours or less. Naps are a struggle as well. I'm not sure why she hates sleeping. I hope she will become a better sleeper as she gets older.
* She loves the Head Shoulder Knees and Toes Baby Einstein video. I love to watch Kyla when she watches the Baby Einstein videos because she laughs and smiles at the puppets. I think it is SO cute!
* And, last but not least, Kyla is in an I LOVE MY MOMMY stage. She is always right at my feet. I sometimes try to sneak away while she is playing with her toys so that I can get a few things done around the house. As soon as she realizes I am not there she starts fussing and babbling as she crawls directly to me. I have to admit that I do get frustrated at times because I feel like I can't get anything done. However, my frustration is always erased when I pick her up and see her big beautiful smile. My heart just melts every time I realize that she is crying for me, crawling towards me, or smiling at me! I LOVE that she knows I am her mommy and I LOVE that she loves me. I know that eventually she will think that I am not the coolest person to be around, so I am cherishing every moment with her during this stage.
I love Kyla with all of my heart and I love every minute that I get to spend with my smiley baby girl!
Sweet little Kyla!

Our smiling baby just loving the fact that she is standing up.
