22 months!

Below are a couple pictures of our 22 month old! I'm so thankful that I have updated every month for 22 months! I love having pictures of Kyla at each stage of her life and think it will be fun to look back on later in life. However, after Kyla's 2nd birthday, I am not going to do a monthly post anymore. I just cannot imagine myself creating a 28 month, 29 month, and 30 month, etc. post. I have decided to just continue updating about the fun and not so fun things that go on in our lives.

I recently put foam rollers in Kyla's hair after she got out of the shower. I tried for the first time a couple weeks ago, but don't think that I left the curlers in long enough. I was going more for the super curly look rather than the wavy look, so I decided to try again. Kyla definitely does not mind having rollers in her hair. Before I tried to roll Kyla's hair, I thought that she would for sure have the curlers out in about one minute, but she pretty much just kept on playing and didn't spend any time trying to get the rollers out of her hair, either of the times that I rolled her hair. Jesse and I absolutely LOVE the way Kyla looks when her hair is all pulled back in rollers! We love being able to see her sweet face!

It's Curly Kyla!!

We love this little one SO MUCH!!!

Another Snow Day and Feeling Better!

Well, we were snowed in yet again! I was bored and decided to put Kyla's hair in foam rollers. She looked so cute with her hair pulled back off of her face! I don't think I left them in long enough because her hair ended up being more wavy than curly. I'm gonna try the rollers again soon and see what I can come up with.

Also, Kyla is feeling much better! She is no longer a sick baby and is back to her normal self! Jesse and I are hoping that the cold and flu season is now over for our family. It was really hard to watch Kyla be sick for two weeks straight. It reminded us to NEVER take for granted good health! Thank you God for our healthy family!!

Playing with mommy while we wait for Kyla's curls!
Watching The Wonder Pets with Jocelyn. Notice the wavy hair! :)

Reese was with us on this snow day!! Yay! We missed her last week! :)

ER Visit

Jesse and I recently had to take Kyla to the ER. She had been running a fever for over a week after being diagnosed with the flu and seemed to be getting worse rather than better. Over the weekend we just couldn't get her fever to break, so when Kyla woke up on Sunday (the 9th day of being sick) with a 104 degree temperature again, we took her to the ER. They ran all sorts of tests and x-rayed her lungs. Thankfully, everything came back fine! They said she must have caught another virus on top of the flu which is why she never showed any signs of a recovery. Jesse and I were SO VERY relieved to find out that she was going to be fine. We all just had to be patient and let the virus run its course.

Here is Jesse holding Kyla while we waited for the doctors. They are watching cartoons on his phone.

Here I am holding our sleeping baby after finding out that everything is going to be ok. Kyla put up a big fight everytime they had to do a procedure because she HATES to be held down and restrained. She fell asleep almost immediately after being examined. I'm sure that she was exhausted!

Snow and Ice

We definitely had a winter blast this year! We were snowed in for four days! It's a good thing that I went to the grocery store on Monday afternoon because late that night there was a lot of rain and sleet. The roads were horrible and people couldn't drive on the roads at all without sliding all around. Also, all of the local school districts were closed because of the weather and roads. So, I did not have to work for four days!!

The four days off worked our perfect because Kyla had the flu and I loved being able to be at home with her while she was so sick. On Thursday night and Friday morning, it snowed! I took Kyla our for about 10 minutes because I wanted her to see the snow. She loved it! It was one of the few things that made her smile all week. The only other thing that made her happy while having the flu was a popsicle. :) Anyway, I didn't want her to get any sicker, so we went inside as soon as she sneezed. Ha!

Isn't she just SNOW cute?!! Sorry...I had to... Hahaha!
