14 Months Old

Our baby is 14 months old! She is a fun little girl who likes to go non-stop all day long. The only time she sits still is when she is eating or watching Sesame Street! We love her so much! Here is some of what Kyla has been up to the last month....

* Kyla loves stacking things. She will play with her stacking cups more than any other toy these days.

* Kyla started "full out" walking the last week or so. She is now walking more than crawling. She still needs some assistance when walking, but I think that in about a week she will be walking around without much help from anyone.

* She loves to read books. She will pick up a book, bring it to me, try to climb into my lap, open the book, and point at the pictures. She will keep her finger on one picture until I tell her what it is and then move her little pointer finger to another picture and wait for me to tell her what she is pointing at.

* Kyla has finally started laying still while I change her diapers! This is such a nice change! I have had to diaper her while she was standing, crawling, and/or rolling over for many many months, so I am truly appreciating her stillness as I change her diaper.

* She loves to clean up when I sing the clean up song. As soon as I start singing and picking up her toys she mimics my behavior and immediately starts to pick up her toys and put them in the toy box.

* Kyla loves to play outdoors. She would spend most of her day outside if she could!

Here is our sweet little 14 month old!

I just love it when Kyla looks at Jesse this way. It is SO stinkin cute!! :)

Outside Fun!

Kyla loves to play outside. Since it gets so hot in the afternoon, we usually go outside in the morning. I took her out the other day after breakfast and she had so much fun! I got a bunch of pics of her playing and think they are so cute.

Loving her outdoor play time! So focused.

Kyla loves to hang out with Winnie cat!
She was pointing to a bird in this picture. Too bad Winnie wasn't paying attention... :)
Now it's time to play with the water hose!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy ever! Jesse is such a great dad! Both Reese and Kyla absolutely adore him! I love to watch their faces light up when they see him! We are all very thankful for our fun loving daddy!

Daddy's girls!

These pics were taken on our way home from Florida. Both girls were exhausted from playing so much on vacation. Do these little ladies have their daddy's lips...or what?!! :)

I love this picture! Kyla is waiting for Aunt Paula to bring her bucket back full of water. SO CUTE!

Thank you, Aunt Paula!

Me and my sweet baby!

This is the whole fam before we started the drive back home. We wanted one last picture on the beach. Since getting a "serious" pic can sometimes take a VERY long time, we decided to be goofy. This is what we ended up with...
Bye beautiful beach...See you next year!

Vacation - Part Two

Here are more pictures from our vacation. I just love these first pictures of Kyla in her bikini! I have no idea why I think a baby's round pot belly is so stinkin cute, but I do! I LOVE her little belly! The ocean water in some of the photos looks darker than normal, but it is not because of the oil spill in the gulf. The darker water was a result of the city draining lake water into the gulf. When the lake water mixes with the ocean the water becomes darker due to the soil from the lakes. The draining of the lake was fully monitored by city and county officials. We read in the paper that all the lakes up and down the Florida panhandle were being drained in an effort to keep the oil away from the white sand beaches. It has something to do with the continuous flow of water out rather than in. It was weird to see the darker water since the water in Destin is normally clear, but it definitely didn't keep us from having a great time!

Playing in the sand and water!

Family Fun in the Sun!

I was in shock when the kiddos caught this fish in the water!

2010 Beach Vacation - Part One

We are back from the beach! We had a wonderful vacation this year and are happy to report that there was no oil! The sand was white and the water was clear. We split the drive into two days because Kyla hates to be in one place for too long. We truly wouldn't have ever been able to make the 15 hour trip without the DVD players in the car. Thank you Sesame Street for entertaining our little one during the long car ride. Reese loved watching her movies too and was thankful that she had her own tv and own movies! She loves Kyla very much, but does get a bit bored with Kyla's Sesame Street marathons. :) We were all really excited to finally get to the beach! After checking out our house for the week, we ran to the beach! It was beautiful...as usual! We set up our camp later that day and spent the afternoon on the beach lounging in the sun! Jesse's mom is always VERY helpful with Kyla. She was kind enough to stay inside the house with Kyla during the heat of the day (all week) so that I could hang out and have adult time! Reese played outside all day every day the entire week! She went non-stop...swimming, body surfing, catching fish, catching crabs, and walking the beach! Kyla played outside in the morning and late afternoon. She liked to walk along the beach in the mornings when the waves were rough. Every time a wave would break on her legs she would scream and squeal really loud! We would laugh so hard because she would just scream and scream and scream! The tide was usually out in the late afternoon so Kyla liked to walk out into the calm water and play in the sand. She isn't walking alone very much yet so she always needed a hand to keep her stable in the sand and water. We spent most of our mid-afternoons hanging out in the pool. It was shaded and a nice place to play and relax after we got too hot at the beach. Reese swims like a fish! Really...she does! It's crazy to think that not too long ago, she was just learning to swim. Time sure does fly! Kyla loved spending time with Jesse in the pool. She thinks he is the coolest guy ever and loves it when he gives her his undivided attention! Later in the week we went into town. The ladies went shopping, the guys enjoyed a beer, and the kids ate snowcones. Fun, Fun, Fun!

The "Road Master"
Reese chilling out during the first 1/2 of our road trip!

Kyla just loving the fact she can watch Sesame Street in the car! Mama and Kyla at the hotel before heading out for our second day of driving.

We made it!!! Our first time on the beach this year! Yay!!

Kyla looks like she's thinking..."Man it's windy!"

"But I like it!" Notice the clear water...no oil!

Me and Jess at happy hour on the beach!! So Fun! :)
